“Birds’ Fête” is a theatrical-comic work for a-cappella choir (SATB) is based on words from Psalms 84:
The sparrow hath found a house
and the swallow a nest for herself
From among the branches they sing
All of them wait for Thee
Thou openest Thy hand
they are satisfied with good.
The composition, as a reflection of the ideal of human life, simulates the birds’ flight in a group alongside solo tweet of different birds as an individual. Authentic quotes (in pitch and tempo) of owl, canary and cuckoo tweets can be heard evolving into a dialogue, multi dialogue, a soloist against the group, and back to the entire group’s flight-dance in admiration of nature in particular and life in general.
The work ends with a chorale based on the words from Psalms, 104:
How manifold are Thy works, O Lord!
In wisdom hast Thou made them all
The earth is full of Thy creatures
Bless the Lord, O my soul

Bracha Bdil
Bracha Bdil (1988), composer, conductor and pianist, is a member of the Israel Composers’ League and her works are published by the Israel Music Institute. Her repertoire includes orchestral music, chamber, vocal and electronic music, as well as music for dance and theater.
Bracha was awarded the 2019-2020 ACUM Award, Israel, and was chosen as one of the composers in representing Israel at the Asian Composers League Festival, Taiwan (2018). She won first prizes in the Competition named after Michal Kleofas Oginski, Belarus. The “Electo Silva”, Santiago de Cuba (2021). The Wolf Durmashkin Composition Award, Germany (2018) and the Yardena Alotin Competition, Israel (2016).
