“Flöte am Bach” is a duet for two flutes a tribute to the musical tradition with which are accustomed, especially the baroque period.
The work has 3 movements which are of contrasting character: Prelude, Vocalise, Canon-Dance.
The 1st movement is a lively and light prelude, the 2nd movement is a slow chromatic Vocallisa and the 3rd and final movement is an energetic dance based on a distinct quote from one of Bach’s works. Not in vain did the work got its name, because apart from the declared gesture to the great composer – Johann Sebastian Bach – the title reflects the optimistic spring atmosphere, as the translation of “Flöte am Bach” in German is: “Flute near the river”.
Within the formal patterns and traditional fabric the composer includes contemporary musical content which attracts the listeners, who discover that although the covering is traditional – a contemporary composer “plays” by writing these pieces putting his personal expression within the classical framework.
